Kids say the funniest things!

I just love the way kids think.  This story is courtesy of my nephew.  Jesse’s sister and her 10 yr. old son live with his parents.  One night his mom was on the internet looking up information on the birth country of our daughter.  Our nephew came up to her and asked what she was looking at.  She told him she was looking up information on the country where his cousin would be born.  He looked at a few photos and made the comment “Nana, I don’t think aunt Kristi is going to know how to do her little girls hair.”  I just love the honesty.

He is right.  That is definitely something I will need to learn.  Good thing I have several websites to investigate and books to look at.  Also, some friends I can call on.  I’m thinking short hair with cute headbands.  We’ll see!

  1. Hey Kristi – another Adoption agency in town, DA Blodgett for Children, is the agency where I work. They offer a class for foster & adoptive parents on African American hair & skin care. When it comes time for you to learn these fun new tricks, definitely look them up. I’m sure you’d be welcome at the class even though you’re not a client of the agency!

Hope you’re doing well! We really do need to get together for coffee sometime!

  2. Awe how cute. I love childrens no filter communication. I’m a fan of cute little ponytail balls. I saw a little girl at the mall sporting this and it brought a huge smile to my face. She was SO cute! I can’t wait to see what your daughter looks like!
